1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SurgeBooks, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users of the platform.
2. Description of Service
SurgeBooks provides cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses. Features include invoicing, expense tracking, financial reporting, and double-entry bookkeeping. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring that the information you enter is accurate
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access
You must not share your account with others or allow unauthorised parties to access the platform using your credentials.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use SurgeBooks to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Record fraudulent or fictitious financial transactions
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
- Reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works of the platform
- Transmit malicious code or interfere with the service
5. Subscription and Billing
SurgeBooks is offered on a subscription basis. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on a recurring basis. All fees are exclusive of taxes. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
We offer a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial. After the trial period, continued use requires a paid subscription.
6. Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of the financial data you enter into SurgeBooks. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data. You may export your data at any time. Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
SurgeBooks is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. SurgeBooks is a financial record-keeping tool — it is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SurgeBooks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to access the service ceases immediately.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes with at least 14 days notice via email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
